Back in 2009, a member of Ukrainian Whisky Connoisseurs Club named after A.Y. Savchenko – in the person of Alexey Yakovlevych himself, together with Jim McEwan – then master distiller of Bruichladdich, created a unique whisky specifically for the Club. After a long and tedious work, they picked out 4 barrels (under the numbers: 1114, 193, 032, 001), and included them in the Bruichladdich Super Heavily Peated release.
This whisky is truly unique because it is the most peated sample the distillery has ever produced under the name of Bruichladdich. The peating level of the malt is 79 ppm.
Whisky has a rich aroma with notes of smoke, bacon, sea salt, and iodine. And it fully reveals itself in the all-filling taste of the sea and smoked meat and turns into a long warming aftertaste.
This release became the very first in our bottling league.
